Tollywood drug case: Puri Jagan fully cooperated in investigation says Akun Sabharwal

Director Puri Jagannath’s investigation before SIT was satisfactory He revealed additional information says Akun Shyam K. Naidu to be questioned tomorrow

Noted Tollywood filmmaker  Puri Jagannadh appeared before the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing into the drug racket in Hyderabad on June 20. His 11 hour stint with the SIT had all the markings of a thriller with reports of his intending arrest rife in the media.

First of the 12 Tollywood personalities to be summoned by the Excise department Puri reached the offices of SIT at 10:30 am and was drilled till 9:30 pm.  He was accompanied by his brother and son Akash.

The Excise Officer Akun Sabaharwal said that Puri had fully cooperated in the investigation and had given additional information useful for the investigation. His investigation took place in a friendly manner. Some reports cited that Puri had admitted to have taken drugs and that while initially he denied knowing Calvin Mascrenhas (the prime accused), a photograph during the Jyothi Lakshmi audio release function, shows them in one frame.

The drug racket was busted in the city earlier this month and 12 celebrities from Tollywood were issued notices directing them to appear before SIT.  SIT planned to investigate one person each day and tomorrow noted cinematographer Shyam K. Naidu would be questioned.
