Things people do for love: Man cuts off tongue, offers it to goddess

Synopsis

Hyderabadi youth sacrifices tongue for love He cut his tongue and offered it to the goddess hoping he would get to marry the love of his life The woman in question seems to be totally unaware of his intention or is now ignoring him because she has not visited him as yet

It is shocking to see the limits some impressionable youth will go to experience or rather prove their love to their significant others.

This case happened in a village near Hyderabad. A young man wanted badly to secure the lady love of his life. What would you do in this case? Most would prefer to approach the person in concern, confess your love and then hope the gods be kind that she/he agrees.

This Hyderabadi lad however, decided to skip to the last step- ask god to make sure that the woman of his dreams marries him.

According to a report in the Times of India, 23-year-old Mallesh, on Thursday, offered his tongue to the presiding deity at Duppala village in Chinna Chintakunta mandal of Wanaparthy district. He offered it to her hoping she would help him marry the woman he was madly in love with.

Police say that Mallesh, a driver with a private company in Hyderabad thought that this could be a sure shot way of getting his love. He reportedly told his friends in the village about his desire and his intention to sacrifice his tongue. His friends thought he was just making up things and dismissed it as a lover’s lament. Little did they know that Mallesh had every intention to do so.

He performed the mutilation in the temple, fell to the ground bleeding and was immediately rushed to the nearby hospital where he is said to be recuperating. No mention has been made of his lady love and whether or not she knows about his existence or his rash deed. However, one report says, the girl in question did not even bother to visit him in hospital.
