Indian-born Sindhuja Reddy from Telangana will be a part of US women’s national cricket team.

The 26-year-old from Amangal village in Nalgonda district will be part of the team going to participate in the World T20 Qualifiers in Scotland in August.

The cricketer, who has played in the Ranji Trophy for Hyderabad's women's team will be a wicket keeper-batswoman for the American team.

Sindhuja, who did her schooling in Hyderabad and also captained Hyderabad's under-19 cricket team. She studied B. Tech and MBA before moving to the US after her marriage to Siddhartha Reddy.

After moving to the USA Reddy represented the Northern California Cricket Association, Atlantis Cricket Club, New York, and the USA National Women’s Cricket Team. She’s also won two prestigious awards while representing Atlantis at the national level; Best Wicket-keeper of the Tournament and Woman-of-the-Match awards. She rose up the ranks in the US domestic circuit and will now be representing them at an international level.

Sindhuja's parents were delighted upon hearing the news.

Her father Spurdhar Reddy recalled that she had a keen interest in the game since her childhood and had played for her school team.
