Failed to bribe, patient forced to use his child's tricycle in Telangana Hospital

In a government hospital in Telangana, a patient in his 40s was denied a wheelchair because he could not pay ₹150, the alleged bribe to the ward boy. The patient then had to use his child’s tricycle to go to the concerned ward for consulting a doctor. 

 

The patient Raju was unable to walk, and instead of offering the wheelchair, the ward boy demanded the bribe that Raju was unable to pay and then the patient used his own child’s tricycle. This shameful incident was captured on camera by one onlooker that instantly went viral.

 

 

The viral video caused much furore, and the matter was brought to the notice of Chief Minister of Telangana K Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR). The CM has assured the patient that the government will offer all possible help for his treatment and also he ordered a probe into this incident of alleged demand of bribe. 

 

Digvijaya Singh of Congress also condemned the incident and called it shameful. “Telangana CM spent crores on his house, with bullet proof bathroom. But they don't have money for a wheelchair, shameful” he said.

Meanwhile, Dr Ramani of Telangana Govt Hospital has told to ANI that, “False claim.The patient is a regular visitor, he presumed we don't have wheelchairs. The fact is we have ample wheelchairs.”
