The Hyderabad police is determined to crack the case of a missing 15-year old girl who mysteriously left home after deleting all her social media accounts. Poornima Sai, a student of Class 10, left home for her school (Bhasyam) on June 7, but did not return till late evening. Following this, the parents lodged a missing complaint at the Bachupally police station. While there is no clue, whatsoever, as to the reason behind her sudden disappearance, police are looking at several possibilities.
While academic pressure from school and parents could be one of the reasons, the police is not restricting their investigation to that. They are also following her footprints on social media. However, it was noticed that all her accounts on social media platforms were de-activated. The officers met the girl's parents and her friends and checked their conversation with her on the phone. However, nothing suspicious could be recovered. Her friends, however, informed the police that she was very active on both Facebook and Instagram.
The girl was using her mother's smartphone and had locked it with a pattern code. The sleuths managed to break the code, but they found that she had deleted all chat history on WhatsApp. Kukatpally ACP N. Bhujanga Rao, speaking to Deccan Herald said, "We are in the process of getting a backup of recent WhatsApp conversations and browsing history on the mobile. Efforts are on to access her social media accounts as well. This may provide some leads we hope."
Her father's friends have also tweeted to IT minister KT Ramarao seeking help in the matter.
According to reports, the Cyberabad Police have dispatched 14 special teams across the city's main exit points. The police have also posted a missing note on social media. The post reads, "She is moving in Hyderabad and Rachakonda and Cyberabad Commissionerate areas. Dressed in black color leggings and an ash color T shirt, she is around 5 feet tall, and wears glasses. She can speak Telugu and English fluently. The missing girl's parents are deeply depressed." She is also being looked for in Vizag, Yanam and even Shirdi as the family had gone there recently for holidays.
