Engineering student commits suicide after being tortured by College authorities

Synopsis

Another engineering student in Keesara commits suicide by jumping under a train. The college authorities barred him from attending the semester exams due to lack of attendance.

A second year Engineering student from Keesara mandal commits suicide by jumping before a train as he was barred from attending the semester exams due to lack of attendance.

According to reports, Ravi Nagender Reddy’s son 20-year-old Abhishek Reddy, resident of SV Nagar in Nagaram of Keesara mandal in Medchel district is pursuing his second year engineering in Vignan Bharathi Engineering College in Avusapur of Ghatkesar mandal.  

Due to lack of attendance accounting for only 50 percent, the college authorities barred him from attending the semester end exams. Agonised by this, Abhishek as usual, left for college on Wednesday but didn’t return home in the evening.

However, on Thursday, local residents identified a body on the railway tracks at Allagadda and informed the police, who identified the body as Abhishek's.

They handed over the body to the family after post mortem. Family of the deceased accuse the college authority’s harassment to be the cause of death.

The family shifted to the city from a remote village near Yadadrigutta in Yadadri district for the children’s education.
