Faith is blind and so is love. This man's love for Shiva and his faith in the dream he has been getting for the past three years caused a traffic jam on the Hyderabad-Warangal main road. 30-year old Lakhan Manoj in which Lord Shiva instructed him to unearth a Shiva Linga beneath the Hyderabad-Warangal main road. Lord Shiva apparently told him that a temple needs to be constructed too at that spot.
The best part of the entire story was that even the sarpanch Jangaon Balne Siddu Lingam and municipal vice-chairman Nagarapu Venkat believed Manoj. The sarpanch said, "Manoj is an ardent devotee of Lord Shiva and has been getting this dream since three years. He asked us to help him dig up the spot and construct the temple. He used to conduct prayers at this location every Monday. As Manoj swooned in excitement at this spot we believed him."
Even the villagers joined him to excavate the site near Tangutur on the Hyderabad-Warangal road on Monday morning. Special prayers were also conducted before the digging began. Incidentally, even after digging 20 feet, they could not find anything. Instead, the excavation created a traffic jam on the national highway, prompting the police to arrive at the spot. The work was stopped at the behest of the police and the persons responsible for the chaos were arrested.
Meanwhile, West Zone DCP T. Venkanna and Jangaon ACP Padmanabha Reddy visited the site and the pit was covered. The police is yet to register a case.
