Synopsis

Users will now be able to perform other tasks like messaging or likewise even during video calls. It has also rolled out the coloured text-only status messages, just like what we've seen in Facebook.

Finally, its official! WhatsApp has released the long-time-rumoured feature for WhatsApp users, which will make watching videos easier.

The picture-in-picture (PiP) feature has been released for both Android and iOS users. The PiP video calling feature is known to have been in the beta testing phase.

With this new Pip feature for video calls, users will now be able to perform other tasks like messaging or likewise even during video calls. They will be able to resize the video calling window and perform other tasks. This will make multitasking easier.

Besides, it has also rolled out the coloured text-only status messages, just like what we've seen in Facebook. You can add a status with a solid coloured background. You will find a floating pen icon in the Status window that will let you post a coloured text-only status.

It will also let you choose from options such as the Status will appear to only your contacts, or exclude people who you prefer don't see it or simply share with a few close friends by adding their names. There is an eye icon that will show you how many have viewed your update.
