  • WhatsApp lets you share more file types.
  • Android users will be able to send maximum 100MB.
  • You can check if the update has arrived on the Google Play Store.

While WhatsApp is used as a platform to share images and videos, there are times when you wished you could share files. To address this, WhatsApp has now decided to add file sharing feature (via AndroidCommunity) that will allow you to share any kind of file.

While earlier you could share file types like doc, txt, ppt, the recent update will also add zipfiles and apks. However, there will be a limit to the file size. Android users will be able to send maximum 100MB and only 64MB can be shared on web.

Some other changes that the update brings include the ability to swipe up from the in-app camera to view photos and videos, and the ability to add bold, strikethrough and italics to words by long pressing on the text. There are also design improvements for voice and video calls.

You can check if the update has arrived on the Google Play Store, and those who cannot wait any longer have the option to download it from APK Mirror.
