
Micromax has launched the Bharat 1, a 4G feature phone. It will be competing with the JioPhone. Airtel also has a newly announced device to combat Jio.
Bharat 1 is priced at Rs 2200, and the company has teamed up with BSNL to offer unlimited 4G data as well as unlimited voice calls at tariff rate of Rs 97.
The device is being called as 'Desh ka 4G phone' which means the country's 4G phone. In terms of specs, it will pack in a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset, 4Gb onboard storage, expandable up to 32GB, 2MP rear snapper, VGA front camera, and support for 22 languages. It is being fuelled by 2200mAh battery.
The device will also bring 11 live TV channels and loads of other content in the form of songs and videos. According to gadgets360, the calls will be unlimited, but the 'unlimited data' will come with a 5GB data for 28 days, and once you exhaust this data that comes without any daily cap, the speed will be reduced to 80kbps.
The phone will be available via retail stores starting October 20.
