Have you ever been on a Google Meet video chat and had to alter your position to obtain the best lighting? Google, on the other hand, offers a solution for this issue. A new feature in Google Meet will remedy bad lighting during video conversations. When a Web user seems underexposed during a video chat, the new function automatically increases the brightness of their device to improve visibility.

The functionality has been handed out to individual users, which means there is no admin control over it and individuals can turn it on or off as they see fit. This follows Google's introduction of a low-light option in the Google Meet smartphone app last year. All Google Workspace clients and G Suite Basic and Business subscribers may use the new functionality.
In a blog post, Google introduced the new functionality. According to the firm, utilising the new light adjustment may cause customers' devices to slow down.

Users may test it out by going to More > Settings > Video > Adjust video illumination. When the video light adjustment is enabled, Google Meet will identify when users are underexposed during a video chat and automatically increase their smartphone's brightness to improve visibility for others on the call. Even if the function is turned off, Google Meet will ask underexposed users to enable automatic video light adjustment.

Because the function can slow down a user's computer, it is also possible to disable it. Google began rolling out the new feature on Monday, September 20, and it will be available to all users during the next several weeks. It should be noted that the automatic video illumination adjustment function necessitates the use of a 64-bit operating system. It also requires Chrome version M90 or above on Windows, Mac, or Linux.
