Good news for Meet users: Google is rolling out new features, data saver mode and more

Synopsis

Google has announced that they are developing a new update to their video conferencing platform, Google Meet.

The new layout will be rolled out next month, including data saving mode, revamped user interface and other features. The new interface will give users more space to see content and other's video feeds. It will also resize and reposition the user who is speaking.

Data saver mode will allow users to access videos in low internet bandwidth by limiting date usage in mobile networks.

An automatic light adjustment will detect any user underexposed, enhancing the brightness to improve the visibility.

Users will be able to add backgrounds to their videos as well. The background option will start from school to party to a forest, but more sets are coming on their way.
