Since Apple revealed its 'App Tracking Transparency' feature with its iOS 14.5 update, Facebook has been quite lashed out.
Apple announced this update last year, and Facebook has been trying to prove that it will be harmful to small businesses. In this feature, users will be asked to give permission before tracking their apps.
But, recently, Facebook has added a new notice as educational screens on its Instagram and Facebook apps under 14.5 iOS. In the notice, it is written, "keep Facebook/Instagram free". It further states, "This version of iOS requires us to ask for permission to track some data from the devices to improve your ads. Learn how we limit the use of this information if you don't turn on this device setting. We use information about your activity received from other apps and websites to: show you ads that are more personalized, help keep Facebook free of charge [and] support businesses that rely on ads to reach their customers."
Now, it is to be seen that what will Apple do after this when they have no intention to change anything. Will this privacy war go on? Facebook has been very vocal about the features that come with the new iOS update as it may harm small businesses. The update will ask for the user's permission.
