The Apple BKC store officially opened its doors to the public on Tuesday. Located in the Jio World Drive Mall in the Bandra Kurla Complex, the store was inaugurated by Apple CEO Tim Cook. He took to Twitter and wrote: "The energy, creativity, and passion in Mumbai is incredible! We are so excited to open Apple BKC — our first store in India."
After opening Apple's first retail shop in India at Mumbai's Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), CEO Tim Cook took to Twitter to say that the vibe in Mumbai is incredible.

— Tim Cook (@tim_cook)On Tuesday, the Apple BKC store formally opened its doors to the public. The shop, which is located in the Bandra Kurla Complex's Jio World Drive Mall, was launched by Apple CEO Tim Cook. Cook exited the Mumbai shop and took photographs with the first wave of Apple customers.
Apple BKC now provides Apple Pickup, which allows consumers to place an order online and pick up items at a time that is most convenient for them. The business employs more than 100 people who speak more than 20 languages.
Apple BKC will be a vibrant environment where consumers can gather to discover Apple goods and services, experience great service, and learn how to get the most out of their devices with free Today at Apple workshops.
With a dedicated solar array and 0% dependency on fossil fuels for shop operations, the store is meant to be one of the most energy-efficient Apple shop locations in the world.
Apple BKC, according to the firm, has a triangular handmade timber ceiling that extends beyond the glass façade to the bottom of the outside canopy, representing the store's distinctive geometry. Each tile is constructed with 408 pieces of timber, resulting in 31 modules per tile and a total of 1,000 tiles that comprise the ceiling.

Apple CEO Tim Cook met with senior Indian business executives in Mumbai on Monday, including Mukesh Ambani, chairman of Reliance Industries, and N Chandrasekaran, chairman of Tata Sons.
He is also scheduled to meet with India’s Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, and Deputy IT Minister Rajeev Chandrashekar during his visit to inaugurate the tech giant’s first retail store in the country this week.
