21-year-old woman goes partially blind after marathon mobile gaming

She said that she would sometimes play the game for seven to eight hours at a stretch without getting up. The woman said she regretted not having listened to her parents, who often tried to persuade her to stop playing the game. She was still in hospital, where doctors were trying to save her vision.

Too much of anything is bad. Technology also has ill effects when consumed more than required. This is exactly what happened to this woman who decided on a marathon of video gaming. 

According to South China Morning Post, 21 year old woman going by the alias name Wu Xiaojing was playing Honor of Kings for a whole day and she lost vision in her right eye. 

“On days when I have no work, I usually get up at 6am, eat breakfast and play until 4pm. Then I’ll eat something, have a nap and play until 1am,” she told the news publication. 

After making multiple visits to the hospital doctors said she is diagnosed with retinal artery occlusion, due to severe eye strain.

"Sometimes I would be so absorbed in the game that I would forget to eat, and not listen to my parents when they told me its time for dinner."

Honour of Kings, a historical battle game owned by Chinese internet giant Tencent, boasts 200 million registered players on Chinas mainland alone.
