In the online booking, theaters are charging additional money according to the classes in the theatre An amount from Rs.30 to Rs.43 is being charged extra per ticket above the taxes This has resulted in paying up to Rs 183 to Rs 193 for a ticket

The strike conducted by the theatre owners against the government on the double taxation has been called off. Theatres started functioning from today.

Following this, the reservation of tickets has begun with the increase in price, covering the GST. Today, Abirami Ramanathan said, “For the tickets up to Rs. 100, 18% GST would be charged and for the tickets above Rs.120, 28% GST would be charged”


It is reported that the theatre owners are selling tickets for high rates. Especially in the online booking, they have been charging additional money according to the classes in the theatre. In that regard, an amount from Rs.30 to Rs.43 extra is being charged.

This has resulted in paying up to Rs.183 to Rs.193 for a ticket.

In addition to this, complaints have been raising that the snacks amount was also increased. The fans have requested the government to take strict action against the theatre owners in order to stop this atrocity.
