Tamil Nadu MLAs in for a treat thanks to CM

Chief Minister E Palaniswami announced a bonanza for Tamil Nadu legislators.
"Government has decided to increase the salaries of Tamil Nadu MLAs from Rs 55,000 to Rs 1.05 lakh per month," Chief Minister E Palaniswami announced in the State Assembly today.
The Chief Minister also announced that MLA Local Area Development Fund would be increased from Rs 2 crore to 2.5 crore.
The pension of retired Assembly members would be increased from Rs.12000 to Rs.20000.
This salary hike will come into effect from July 1, 2017.
