Synopsis

President Pranab Mukherjee  was also requested by Kanimozhi, Rajya Sabha MP, to visit her father Karunanidhi DMK is organising a mega event on June 3 in Chennai with almost all non-BJP party leaders to show their strength It could be that the President is avoiding the political situation in Tamil Nadu

The President of India Pranab Mukherjee has cancelled his Kanchipuram visit which was scheduled for Wednesday, May 24. He was supposed to address the 1000 year birth anniversary of Lord Ramanujacharya

The reason for cancelling this event is not immediately known. Even the Rashtrapati Bhavan spokesman refused to comment. President Pranab Mukherjee  was also requested by Kanimozhi Rajya Sabha MP to visit her father Karunanidhi while on his visit to Kanchipuram, but he has not indicated his consent.

It could be deduced that since the Tamil Nadu political situation is at present fluid, most likely the President would not have wanted to get into the controversy. DMK is organising a mega event on June 3 in Chennai with almost all non-BJP party leaders Sonia and Rahul Gandhi, Naveen Patnaik, Nitish Kumar and Mamta Bannerjee expected to join this meeting to put on a massive show of strength.

However, the President will keep up his Ooty schedule. On Monday night, he will be staying at Ooty and on Wednesday morning will depart for New Delhi.
