Now, Jayalalithaa's niece aims for the AIADMK symbol

Synopsis

Deepa, Amma's niece, now claims inheritance of the 'two-leaf' symbol. The part factions in AIADMK are already fighting over the symbol. The Election Commission has already frozen the symbol due to the warring factions of AIADMK.

It is a known fact that both Sasikala and O. Panneerselvam are fighting for the AIADMK's ‘two leaves’ symbol. Now, Jayalalithaa's niece Deepa is also claiming a stake in it. In a bid to prove her natural inheritance of the legacy, Deepa has reportedly produced 50,000 documents to the officials of Election Commission. It has been clearly mentioned in the documents that she is the true AIADMK member.

Immediately after the demise of Jayalalitha, AIADMK split into two warring factions. The ‘two leaves’ symbol was frozen by the Election Commission due to the tension prevailing within the party factions. This happened during the R.K Nagar bi-election.

The recent development is an unexpected twist in the AIADMK crisis as Deepa has also set out to claim the frozen symbol.
