MGR's centenary celebrations to begin in Madurai

The programmes will include vocal concert by Lakshman Sruthi, Yogi Ramalingam’s yoga concert, a debate, that would be led by the Professor Gnanasambandam and Kalaalaya’s Bharatanatyam performances. Arrangements have been made for live broadcast. The Chief Minister would be given a warm welcome in the Madurai Airport at 10 am.

The Centenary function celebrating former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, NGR, begin today in Madurai. The inaugural function began at 2 PM this afternoon. 

The programmes will include a vocal concert by Lakshman Sruthi, Yogi Ramalingam’s yoga concert, a debate lead by Professor Gnanasambandam and Kalaalaya’s Bharatanatyam performances.  After this, Chief Minister EPS would distribute prizes for the winners. The underprivileged would be served through welfare schemes. 

Arrangements have also been made to broadcast the event live via electronic vehicles in seven locations in Madurai. 

Following this, the MGR centenary would be celebrated across Tamil Nadu.

The Chief Minister also opened an MGR photography exhibition on behalf of the Public Relations Department and garlanded an MGR statue at KK Nagar.
