Income tax officials have issued a summons demanding health minister and AIADMK leader C Vijayabaskar to appear in person at the Nungambakkam income tax wing on Friday, July 21.
The income tax department had carried out a raid at Vijayabaskar's residence on April 7 and seized several documents. With reference to this case, the minister, his wife and his brother have already appeared at the income tax wing and gave explanation.
However, the department has now asked the health minister to appear at their office again.
Vijayabaskar had earlier claimed that the raids were politically motivated.
