On July 12, 2017, at his press meet meant to respond to allegations of vulgarity in his reality TV Show 'Bigg Boss Tamil', Kamal Haasan spoke of the rampant corruption in Tamil Nadu.
He has been facing sharp criticism from the AIADMK ministers such as Anbalagan, Jayakumar and Shanmugam for his statements.
BJP leaders have also criticised Kamal Haasan.
In retaliation, the actor’s fans have put up posters condemning the ministers in several districts such as Madurai.
Responding to this action of his fans, on Sunday, July 23, 2017, Kamal Haasan made a request through his Twitter account. It reads, “I need my fans for greater service. I am enough to fend them off. Do not waste time and money on posters. Please take this debate higher.”
