52 design students bring India on canvas in this unique way

Synopsis

The 52 students belonged to NIFT-TEA College of Knitwear Fashion. The whole agenda of the artwork was to spread awareness on the craftmanship available in India. The installation took 12 days to finish the 29 feet X 29 feet installation.

A total of 52 students pursuing apparel designing at NIFT-TEA College of Knitwear Fashion have set up a unique and gigantic installation of the Indian map, highlighting the art and craft forms existing in various parts of India. According to a report by The Hindu, the installation took 12 days to finish the 29 feet X 29 feet installation.

As per the students, the main objective of the creation was to spread awareness on the craftmanship available in India. On display were the Warli tribal art from Maharashtra, mural paintings of Kerala, Tanjore paintings of Tamil Nadu and Chikankari embroidery works from Uttar Pradesh.
