Tottenham vs Manchester United: Predictions and probable lineups

Synopsis

Tottenham Hotspur will play for pride as they cannot challenge Chelsea for the title any more in this season.  Manchester United still have a bleak chance of making it to the top four in the Premier League points table.

Two top English football clubs, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United will collide in a Premier League encounter at the White Hart Lane on Sunday evening. The Spurs will be disappointed after their loss against West Ham United which triggered Chelsea to beat West Bromwich Albion and win the Premier League.

Therefore, Mauricio Pochettino's side cannot challenge Chelsea anymore in this season. They have already secured a top four finish and have also secured a berth in the UEFA Champions League for the next season. Now they will be up against Jose Mourinho's Manchester United.

Pochettino is unlikely to make any changes to his lineup, which played against West Ham in the last game. Dele Alli and Harry Kane have been excellent in this season and both are likely to start against United.

Mourinho, on the other hand, will field a relatively strong lineup. But he will miss the service of Paul Pogba as his father passed away a couple of days ago. Michael Carrick could make a start on Sunday along with Ander Herrera. Axel Tuanzebe may also get to start as Antonio Valencia has not travelled to London for this game.

Predictions

Tottenham Hotspur: 2 Manchester United 1

Probable lineups

Tottenham Hotspur: Lloris; Dier, Alderweireld, Vertonghen; Trippier, Wanyama, Dembele, Davies; Eriksen, Alli; Kane.

Manchester United: De Gea; Tuanzebe, Bailly, Smalling, Darmian; Carrick, Herrera; Mata, Rooney, Martial; Rashford.
