Tokyo Olympics: PV Sindhu bags bronze, outplays He Bingjiao in playoff

India finished on a high note at the Tokyo Olympics in the badminton sector, with top star PV Sindhi winning the bronze medal, beating He Bingjiao of China.

India finally secured its second medal of the Tokyo Olympics, with ace shuttler PV Sindhu bagging the bronze. She beat He Bingjiao of China in straight games 21-13 and 21-15 to attain her second Olympic medal.

The Indian dominated right from the start, with better judgement, followed by fast movements, as she comfortably outplayed the Chinese in the opening game. In the next game, she slightly changed her gameplay, applying more of an attacking measure, coming up with solid smashes, leaving her opponent clueless.

Sindhu had previously won the silver at the 2016 Rio Olympics. Meanwhile, she joins weightlifter Mirabai Chanu (silver) as the second Indian medalist of this Games.
