Tokyo Olympics: Golfer Anirban Lahiri finished tied-42nd, Udayan Mane placed 56th

Synopsis

The Indian golfers could not impress either at the Tokyo Olympics, with Anirban Lahiri finishing tied at 42nd, while Udayan Mane was placed way below in 56th.

India's stint at Tokyo Olympics ended on yet another sour note, with the golfers underperforming. While top golfer Anirban Lahiri finished 42nd, tied with three others, Udayan Mane finished at the 56th spot.

Lahiri could manage just one-over in the final round, with a total of five-under in the competition. As for Mane, he too fired one-over in the deciding round, with a three-over overall.

Before the final round, Lahiri was tied 28th and scored one-over 72 in the final to finish tied 42nd and had a five-under 279. Meanwhile, Mane had a total score of three-over 287.

America's Xander Schauffele won the gold medal, scoring 18-under-par 266. "I really wanted to win for my dad. I am sure he is crying somewhere right now. I kind of wanted this one more than any other," he said following the win.

Rory Sabbatini of Slovakia finished with the silver, with a shot behind. Meanwhile, Pan Cheng-Tsung of Chinese Taipei won the bronze following a playoff.
