In what could be termed a splendid performance by the Indian men's hockey team, it dominated Great Britain 3-1 in the quarterfinal on Sunday. With this win, India has entered the Olympic semis for the first time in 49 years.
It all started with Dilpreet Singh's opening goal in the seventh minute, with him playing his 50th game for India. Although Indian maintained its lead in the opening quarter, it dominated with most of the possession.

In the third quarter, after a series of penalty corners for GB, it was finally converted in the third attempt, as India continued to maintain the lead at the end of the third quarter. Just three minutes before the final hooter, Hardik produced a brilliant solo effort to fire in third and seal its semis berth.
