Jhulan Goswami: 5 amazing facts about the world's highest wicket-taker!

Jhulan Goswami broke the former Australia pacer Cathryn Fitzpatrick's record of 180 wickets. Ironically, it was because of Fitzpatrick she decided to take cricket seriously as her career. 

Former India women's cricket team captain, Jhulan Goswami, added another feather to her already decorated cap. The Chakdah-born seamer became the highest wicket-taker in the world. She achieved this feat during the ongoing quadrangular series game against hosts South Africa, in Potchefstroom.

The 34-year old picked up three wickets to break the previous record set by the former Australian pacer Cathryn Fitzpatrick. Now she has 181 wickets in 153 matches at an average of just above 21.

## Jhulan Goswami went through all kind of hardships to reach where she is today. She used to travel 80 km to do her training in Kolkata. She used to wake up at 4:30 am in the morning in order to reach the practice on time. 

## The fiery pacer has already been bestowed with the prestigious Arjuna Award in 2010 and the Padma Shri Award in 2012. 

## Ironically, it was because of Fitzpatrick she decided to take cricket seriously as her career. 

## In 2007, she was also adjudged the ICC Women's Cricketer of the Year. 

## Goswami only dreams about helping India to win the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup in 2017.
