Jasprit Bumrah has emerged as one of the world’s leading fast bowler in limited overs cricket. In the recently concluded he became a death overs specialist picking up 20 wickets from 16 matches. And he will be the most important bowler in the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2017 scheduled to start on June 1.

Bumrah has played 11 one-day matches for India, picking up 22 wickets with a brilliant economy of 4.89. Although he gave away runs in this season of IPL, Bumrah picked wickets at the crucial moments of every game. 

Bumrah played a key role in helping Mumbai Indians defend a below-par 129 for eight in the final against Rising Pune Supergiant on Sunday by one run and accomplish their third title win.

Bumrah finished with figures of two for 26 in four overs, including the crucial wicket of MS Dhoni in the 17th over to pave the way for the memorable win.

Mumbai Indians bowling coach, Shane Bond, said, “We had to tweak our bowling attack based on Bumrah’s bowling at the back end. When you start to base your bowling attack around a bowler like Jasprit, it tells you a lot about his quality. I think he’ll play Test cricket and will be a world-class bowler across all formats.”

“The way he has been bowling in this tournament, if he carries that form through to the Champions Trophy, he is going to play a huge role in India’s success,” he further added.
Bumrah’s unorthodox bowling style combined with his ability to remain calm in the death overs will be crucial for India’s bowling attack in the upcoming Champions Trophy tournament.
