Team India reclaims No. 1 spot in Tests

India returned to the No. 1 position according to the latest Test rankings following Australia's disappointing 0-3 loss against Sri Lanka on Wednesday. Australian batsmen, chasing 324 were bundled out for 160 and handed a historic series win to the hosts. 

Australia, who was on the top before the 3-Test series against Sri Lanka, is now placed in the third position. Pakistan's recent 2-2 result against England has pushed them to the second spot. 

India will have to win the fourth Test against West Indies to ensure they don't lose their pole position in Test ranking. Even if India draws the match and finish the series 2-0, Pakistan could still replace them as the No. 1 side. 

The Lankans whitewashed Australia at home and the historic victory has handed the hosts 10 points. With 95 points, Angelo Matthews and Co are now No. 6. 

The likes of England, New Zealand, and South Africa fall next at No. 4, 5 and 7. West Indies, who is currently 0-2 down in the 4-Test series against India, is in the eighth position followed by Bangladesh and Zimbabwe, completing the top 10 Test sides. 

New Zealand leads South Africa by seven points; the two sides are set to lock horns in a two-Test series, starting August 19.
