Report: Four Wimbledon matches and French Open matches flagged for betting

Synopsis

The Tennis Integrity Unit  (TIU) has said that four Wimbledon matches and French Open have found to have unusual betting patterns. The quarterly report which was released by TIU on Wednesday mentions that from April to June, there were 53 alerts received out of more than 31,000 matches played.

The Tennis Integrity Unit (TIU), in it's quarterly report has given a shock to tennis fans all over the world. The report mentioned that the four matches that were played at Wimbledon 2017 and French Open matches were found to have unusual betting patterns.

According to the report of AP, the report which was released from TIU on Wednesday mentions that from April to June, there were 53 alerts received out of more than 31,000 matches played. Similarly, in the last year's report it had found 73 alerts.

When there are speculations made regarding the match-fixing, TIU said that each alert has to be assessed. Unusual betting patterns cannot be hard evidence of match-fixing.
