South African cricketing legend Jonty Rhodes is in Mangaluru to promote surfing and personal fitness but in a unique way. He has asked people who wanted to pose for a selfie with him to do push-ups before getting the picture clicked.
Rhodes, who is now the fielding coach for Mumbai Indians, was the chief guest at the second edition of the Indian Open of Surfing held in Mangaluru on Sunday. He asked every fan who wanted a selfie with him to do ten push-ups for each selfie. This he says was to encourage exercise and training with his fans.
Addressing the gathering, Rhodes said, "It is due to my association with the IPL, that I have visited a lot many of the surfing spots in the country, which I dearly love."
Jonty said that he had experienced several surf spots in India with each spot being unique.
He became a father again when his wife Melanie gave birth to their second son, Nathan Jon two days ago.
Today, Jonty is a surfer by hobby and also a fitness promoter.
