The Champions Trophy 2025 anthem has been officially released by International Cricket Council (ICC), featuring Pakistan's renowned singer Atif Aslam.
Champions Trophy 2025 is just days away and the International Cricket Council (ICC) released the much-awaited official anthem of the marquee event on Friday, February 8. The 50-over tournament is scheduled to take place from February 19 to March 9. Though Pakistan is the official host of the tournament, the hybrid model is in place as Team India will play all their fixtures in Dubai.
There is already a lot of hype and excitement around the Champions Trophy, especially in Pakistan, given that the country will host an ICC tournament for the first time since the 1996 ODI World Cup, where Pakistan co-hosted the prestigious tournament alongside India and Sri Lanka. Adding to the Champions Trophy hype, the ICC released the tournament's anthem, featuring renowned Pakistani singer Atif Aslam. The title of the song is ‘'Jeeto Baazi Khel Ke', which means ‘win the tournament by competing’. It is a motivation message to the participating teams while hyping the excitement for the Champions Trophy 2025.
In a video posted by ICC across their official social media handles, Atif Aslam can be seen leading vocals for the song while showcasing the vibrant culture of Pakistan, crowded markets, and most importantly authentic backdrop that signifies the passion for cricket in the country.
The official anthem of the Champions Trophy 2025 was produced by Abdullah Siddiqui and lyrics were crafted by Adnan Dhool and Asfandyar Asad. Atif Islam is not just a popular singer in Pakistan but also has a huge fan following in India as he has lent his melodious voice to many Bollywood movies that became chartbusters. His songs like Pehli Nazar Mein, O’Meri Laila, Jena Laga Hoon, Dil Diyan Gallan, Tera Hone Laga Hoon, Paniyon se and others have garnered love and appreciation across the border.
With Atif Aslam lending his voice for the official anthem of the Champions Trophy 2025, expectations are high to become an instant. Since the tournament is partially happening in Pakistan, the International Cricket Council couldn’t have a better singer than Atif Aslam to represent the spirit of the event. His voice aims to capture the emotions and excitement of the fans around the cricketing world for the Champions Trophy.
Renowned Pakistani singer Atif Aslam revealed that he wanted to become a fast bowler as he was very fond of cricket since childhood. He said that he felt connected to the adrenaline of the crowd, given his deep understanding of the game. The 41-year-old further added he used to always get excited for the clash between India and Pakistan.
“I am very fond of cricket and I always wanted to be a fast bowler. Having the passion and understanding of the game - I feel connected to the adrenaline of the crowd, their cheers and the feeling of being a fan.” Atif Aslam said.
“I used to wait for matches, in particular the India versus Pakistan game, which was always full of emotions and sentimental value. And that is why I am very excited to have been a part of the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025 official song,” he added.
