Bengaluru’s first woman cab driver commits suicide

Synopsis

Bengaluru’s first woman taxi driver, 40-year-old Bharati committed suicide last night. She was living in a rented house in Sanjay Nagar. She hails from Andhra Pradesh.

 

Last night, the owner of the house saw her hanging from the ceiling when he peeked inside the house through the window. He immediately called the police.

 

Bharati lived alone in the house. The owner of the house has said that she was planning to return to her village in Andhra Pradesh.

 

The Sanjay Nagar police have filed the case and investigating on what made her commit suicide.

 

Bharathi had been living in the city for the past 10 years. She worked in an NGO before taking up driving as a profession.
