Versatile filmmaker Jayaraj is not too happy the way Indian films are made. Rather than focusing on technical perfection, we invest too much on actors, the national award winning director regrets.
Jayaraj told Times of India that Indian movies could not reach the level of Hollywood ventures because the film industry in the country spends too much money on actors and too little on other aspects of film-making.
The director also said that he was more comfortable working with new comers as they could get into the skin of a character easily. Celebrity actors are not willing to go beyond their stardom.
Jayaraj, who roped in stunt choreographer Allan Popleton and music director Jeff Rona from Hollywood for his upcoming movie 'Veeram,' said that he was amazed by the commitment of these experts. Jayaraj also brought in Academy Award winning makeup artist Trefor Proud and colourist Jeff Olm for the film. Despite being globally renowned technicians, they are easily accessible, unlike the Indian artists, he said.
