A police investigation was launched after two miscreants pelted stones at the party headquarters of Vijayakanth-led DMDK in the city.

While the police are yet to catch the men, it is suspected that some people who were denied party tickets for the 16 May Tamil Nadu election may have been behind the incident.

The police after investigating the CCTV cameras said that the attack on the DMDK office in Koyambedu took place at around 5.30 am on Thursday morning.

For the upcoming elections, Vijayakanth’s DMDK recently allied with the People’s Welfare Alliance. While DMDK will contest in 124 seats, the PWF will contest in 110 seats. Both the allies had agreed on fielding 'Captain' as the Chief Ministerial candidate of the alliance.
