Uber inks pact with tech startup incubator T-Hub

Uber on Tuesday signed a pact with technology startup incubator T-Hub to leverage its expertise in shortlisting 20 start-ups through existing network of both the organisations Of the 20 startups selected initially, 10 will be taken to Silicon Valley for further mentoring and introduce them to the world-class startup ecosystem

 

Taxi-hailing app Uber on Tuesday signed a pact with technology startup incubator T-Hub, set up by Telangana government, for UberExchange programme. As part of the deal, T-Hub will be leveraging its expertise in shortlisting 20 start-ups through existing network of both the organisations, according to Eric Alexander, Head of Business, Uber Asia.

              

T-Hub will invite startups to apply for the UberExchange programme through an online application process and encourage participation and representation from start-ups across the country, Alexander said. "One of the most important things for entrepreneurs is to surround themselves with experienced mentors who understand what they are going through and who can provide the right guidance and support," he said.

              

Of the 20 startups selected initially, 10 will be taken to Silicon Valley for further mentoring and introduce them to the world class startup ecosystem, T-Hub CEO Jay Krishnan said. On surge pricing, Alexander said they are in touch with state governments and other agencies on regulatory issues.
