Saudi fire: Three more bodies flown home

Synopsis

The bodies of Konchar Bhaskar Poojary of Bajpe,  Balakrishna of Vamanjoor and Vincent Monteiro of Neerumarga were flown here on two separate flights last evening, officials said.

 

Five of the victims of the fire tragedy, at Saudi Arabia's Jubail plant on April 16, were from Mangaluru and nearby places. The bodies of two others, Karthik Sanil of Kolnadu near Mulki and Ashraf of Haleyangadi, were brought here on April 25.

 

Dakshina Kannada district Deputy Commissioner A B Ibrahim had on April 18 written to the Ministry of External Affairs, requesting immediate action for bringing back the bodies by contacting the Indian Embassy in Saudi Arabia.
