Pejavara Shri invites PM Modi to Udupi

Synopsis

PM Narendra Modi took part in anniversary function Madhvacharya, from Delhi via Video Conference. Pejavara Sri Vishveshwara Teertha Swamiji invited Modi to Udupi.

Udupi Krishna Math organized 700th birth anniversary of Sri Madhvacharya, the chief proponent of the Dvaita (dualism) school of Vedanta, who established Udupi Sri Krishna Math.

PM Narendra Modi took part in this anniversary function from Delhi via Video Conference. In his welcome speech Pejavara Sri Vishveshwara Teertha Swamiji invited Modi to Delhi.

“We are happy with your virtual presence but we would have been satisfied if we had experienced with your actual presence. You must come to Udupi and take the blessings of Lord Krishna. Sri Krishna built Dwaraka in Gujrat and now Modi, who hails from the same place, is building the nation” Swamiji said.

Swamiji remembered Modi's previous visit to Udupi when he was just an ordinary BJP worker. Swamiji told that now he is leading the nation like Arjuna and he must come to take the blessings of Krishna in Udupi. Responding to Swamiji's comment with a smile Modi told that he's also not satisfied with the virtual communication and told that he'll visit Udupi soon.

In his speech, Modi spoke about the contributions of Madhvacharya for the reformation of the society. He narrated how the bhakti movement of medieval period protected the nation from foreign invasions.

Thousands of devotees had gathered in the auditorium to celebrate Madhva Navami and to listen to Modi’s speech. A technical team from Mangaluru University had installed LCD display screen on both the sides of the stage.
