Rumours are fast circulating that Interim Chief Minister O Panneerselvam has the support of close to 22 MLAs from the party and DMK may also support to the OPS government from outside. This is what is being circulated on Tamil News channels as well.
OPS will need the support of 30 MLAs to tilt the balance in his favour. Sasikala immediately began the power play by claiming that “all MLAs are together as one family”, basically asserting that she enjoys the complete support of the party. Other politicians are letting everybody who is interested know that “OPS is under pressure”. So it’s a good tactic to mentally defeat the opposition. As of now OPS will most likely seek some time to prove his majority in the House.
He tweeted saying : “I will show my strength in Assembly to form the government. I am just following Amma's path.”
Meanwhile, in the case of OPS, very few leaders were seen in open support, some coming to his residence late last night. Rajya Sabha MP V Maitreyan has come out in support of OPS, saying his conscience told him to and that his loyalty to Amma made him, so has Solavandan MLA K Manickam.
