If you are a working parent and have been looking for a way to set reminders for your child's vaccinations, look no further, there is an easier way than marking all you calendars with red markers.
The health department in Kerala came up with an innovative idea to launch a mobile app 'Immunisation Kerala' which monitors vaccination appointments and sends alerts to the parents reminding them of upcoming vaccine shots.
The app is currently available for Android users and can be downloaded from Google Play Store. Once installed, all the necessary information of the child such as age, gender has to be fed in.
With the details fed in, the user will receive a calendar which will have detailed information about vaccinations schedules for children between ages 6 months to 16 years.
The app also provides SMS facility which sends alerts to the parents reminding them of vaccination appointments and the stages of child development.
