Motorbike racing turns fatal for 5 youths as van hits them
Synopsis
Five youths were killed when two motorcycles, on which they were racing, collided with a van at Melakadayanallur in Tamil Nadu, police said on Monday.
The incident occurred last night when the van driver, on seeing the youths racing in the middle of the road, panicked and lost control of the vehicle, they said.
He was clueless about from which direction the bikes were coming, as they were weaving through the road at a high speed, police said.
Four youths were killed on the spot, while another succumbed to injuries at the hospital today, they said, adding 12 occupants of the van were also injured.
