Kalaburgi killed following a land dispute?

Synopsis

CID has arrested two persons involved with regard to killing of Kalaburgi The arrested people have confessed to having killed Kalaburgi due to property disputes

 

The killing of Kalaburgi was termed as ‘growing intolerance’ against rationalists. Many returned their literary awards in a mark of protest.

 

Currently, the Vijayapura police have arrested two people in the Kalaburgi murder case. Surprisingly, the persons arrested have confessed that they killed him about a property dispute.

 

Sources said that the accused have no clue about his writings, researches or his ideologies. It is said that they had an argument with Kalaburgi on a land issue and they shot him in this regard.

 

Nagarala Village of Sindagi Taluk, Vijayapura is the native of MM Kalaburgi. A report from Udayavani says that the accused are the residents of the same village. However, the government or the investigating agency has not made any such official announcement on the issue.

 

Prior to Kalaburgi’s death, rationalists, Govind Pansare and Narendra Dhabolkar of Maharashtra were also murdered in a similar way. Their death led to spreading of a rumour that some Hindu fundamentalist organisation was behind these acts.
