Megastar Mammootty pulls out of Vijay movie

Synopsis

.Putting rumours to rest, it's now clear that superstar Mammootty will not be part of Tamil hero Vijay's upcoming movie.

Azhagiya Tamil Magan fame director Bharathan was planning to rope in Mammootty as the main antagonist in the movie titled  Vijay 60 . Reports from the film circles say the character did not appeal to the  Malayalam megastar who turned down the offer.

Now, Telugu actor Jagapathi Babu has been cast in the movie to play the villain role. Malayalee actress Keerthi Suresh will play the heroine in the film.

Mammootty appeared in many Tamil films and the most popular among them is the 1991 Mani Ratnam movie 'Thalapathy' in which Superstar Rajinikanth and Mammootty played lead roles. However, his last Tamil film "Vandematharam", directed by T Aravind, failed to mark at the box office.
