Minister promises ‘no load-shedding’ in darkened press conference

Synopsis

In a press conference on Tuesday, Minister Shivakumar said that despite there being a power shortage in the state, his government would ensure that there would be no 'load-shedding.'

But just as he began to give out the details, he was cut short by a disconnection of the electricity and everyone at the Vidhana Soudha was left to fume in the dark. The conference was hurriedly wrapped up soon after.

Back in March, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah faced a similar situation while presenting the Budget. The power went off for several minutes and the CM had to read out the budget using the light from mobile phones.
