A week after Kerala High Court administration clarified that there is no ban for media persons on court premises, lawyers threatened and ousted journos who entered High Court for reporting.
A meeting of journalists and lawyers representatives, in the presence of Chief Justice, had on Thursday decided to allow media persons to enter court premises and report news.
However, a group of lawyers denied entry for journalists before the court of Chief Justice and threatened to attack them if they did not leave the premises. When the matter was reported to Chief Justice, he asked journos to file a complaint with the Registrar.
Following this, reporters gave a complaint to the Registrar and left court premises under police protection. The issue began after a media report about a lawyer who molested a woman on the road.
