The police team investigating the death of a ten-year-old girl at Kundara in Kollam has decided to approach High Court seeking permission to subject the mother and grand father of the victim to a lie detector test. The decision was taken after it was found that both the accused are not cooperating with the investigation.
"We assume that both of them have vital information about the case which would unravel the mystery behind the death of the girl. They are not even ready to reveal the situation which upset the girl, Kollam Rural SP S Surendran said.
A month after the girl was found hanging at her house, police took nine persons including mother, maternal grand father and some of their relatives into custody.

Though police had at first stated that the girl had committed suicide, questions had been raised over the plausibility of a ten-year-old killing herself. A suicide note recovered from the site had claimed that the problems inside family led to death. However, the authenticity of the note is challenged, and it will be subjected to forensic examination.
