Karnataka opposition launches 'raging' protest all night

Synopsis

United in opposition, Karnataka’s BJP and JDS Assembly members used ‘eat,  sleep and sing bhajan’ overnight tactics at the Assembly hall  to shame the ruling Congress government that is mired in controversies

The opposition legislators who are unanimously gunning for the resignation or sacking of Bengaluru district in-charge minister KJ George from the cabinet for his alleged role in the DySP MK Ganapathy suicide, criticised CM Siddaramaiah for shielding the persons named by Ganapathy hours before his suicide.

Opposition leader Jagadish Shetter along with KS Eshwarappa led the bhajan session. This was done to attract the attention of the media who lapped up the visuals.

As the legislators were on night long agitation, home minister G Parameshwara, in a gesture of goodwill, visited the Vidhana Soudha premises late in the evening and checked for the necessary security arrangements. He later met the legislators and asked them about their wellbeing.
