Kerala: School buses seized for running classes in summer

A school in the outskirts of Thiruvananthapuram district faced the wrath of administration after the school authorities violated an official order from the district collector.

The power supply to Chirayankeezh Gokulam school was cut off and its school buses were confiscated after the school did not heed to District Collector Biju Prabhakar's official order that the schools must remain closed until May 20 given heat wave alert declared across the state.

Strict instructions were issued in Kottayam, Kozhikode, Kollam, Thiruvananthapuram and Kannur in the wake of increasing incidence of sunstroke in the state.
