Having rolled out 98.5% of state's population under Aadhar, Kerala state is now planning to launch a campaign to enrol children below five years and bedridden. Kerala State IT Mission, the nodal agency for Aadhar enrolment, will initiate the project in association with Akshaya Centres.

Enrolment of bedridden and physically disabled persons will be done with the help of district administration and local bodies while the assistance of Anganwadis will be sought for child enrolment. Children up to five years including new borns can enrol.

There are about 700 Akshaya Centres in the state, the assistance of which can be sought to ensure enrolment. IT Mission has also prepared about 250 tablets to facilitate registration of disabled and bedridden persons by visiting their place of residence. So far 98.5% people in the state, including migrant workers have been enrolled in Aadhaar. However, the move will not benefit the non-resident Keralites.

"We are not permitted to conduct enrolment camp outside the state. However, we plan to ensure enrolment of non-resident Keralites who approach Akshaya Centres whenever they are in the state. They will be given priority," an IT Mission official said.

To ensure 100% enrolment, IT Mission has also offered various facilities like e-KYC and authentication. All the institutions and department functioning under state government can avail the service.
